A 5K Event to Rally Support of Children and Families

The Founder’s Day 5K & children’s Mustard Seed 1K celebrates the April 26, 1871 founding of Wellroot Family Services. Join us as we kick off Founder’s Week with The Founders Day 5K and Mustard Seed 1K on Saturday, April 30th. We will celebrate with teams all across Georgia, as we collectively walk or run with our churches, neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family, to raise funds and awareness for the needs of children and families at Wellroot.

The Founder’s Day 5K

The Founder’s Day 5K is not your average 5K event. We invite you to be a part of a 6-week journey as we prepare the mind, body, and soul with information on child welfare and family preservation; devotionals for adults and children on these topics; fun challenges; and even a walking/running program.

You can make the race your own by running, walking, or adjusting the distance all to help children in Georgia. Every participant receives a t-shirt!

The Mustard Seed 1K

Designed to engage toddlers to tweens, the Mustard Seed 1K gives children an enriching opportunity to learn about the importance of helping children and families in need and how to be of service to others, while having fun running a 1K race. All mustard seeds receive a t-shirt!

How can I support if I am not interested in walking or running?

Anyone can start a fundraiser! Even if you do not run or walk, you can help raise awareness for the needs of children and families. Your gift helps open doors and change lives. When you contribute to Wellroot, you can be sure that 100% of your donation is spent in the service of young people and families throughout Georgia who need critical care, expert support, or simply the everyday basics that make a house a home.

Thank you to our faithful 2022 sponsors!
