A Virtual 5K Event to Rally Support of Children and Families
On May 1, 2021, 32 teams and 268 walkers/runners from across North Georgia celebrated Wellroot’s 150th-anniversary of serving families & children in Georgia during Wellroot’s Founder’s Day 5K & Mustard Seed 1K! In all, Wellroot supporters raised over $47,000 for the children & families. Bill & Carolyn Curry were the honorary chairs of this virtual event which helped raise funds and awareness of Wellroot’s mission and foster care in Georgia. Watch our race highlight video below!
The Founder’s Day 5K
The Founder’s Day 5K is not your average virtual 5K event. We invite you to be a part of a 6-week journey as we prepare the mind, body, and soul with a run and walking training program, fun challenges, meaningful devotions, and stats about the children you are running for. You can make the race your own, by running, walking, or adjusting the distance, all to help children in Georgia.
The Mustard Seed 1K
Our children’s Mustard Seed 1K gives children an enriching opportunity to learn about the importance of helping children and families in need, how to actively support the children & families at Wellroot, and celebrating on May 1st by running the Mustard Seed 1K.
How can I support if I am not interested in walking or running?
Anyone can start a fundraiser, even if you do not run or walk you can help raise awareness for the needs of children and families. Your gift helps open doors and change lives. When you contribute to Wellroot, you can be sure that 100% of your donation is spent in service of young people and families throughout Georgia who need critical care, expert support or simply the everyday basics that make a house a home.
Thank you to our faithful 2021 sponsors!
